WEST MICHIGAN BUSINESS AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION
2013 AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM


The West Michigan Business Aircraft Association (WMBAA) was formed in 1980 to help
promote aviation in West Michigan. Part of that effort includes promoting the
development and training of future aviation professionals in our area by awarding
aviation scholarships to outstanding aviation students. Our desire is to ensure that the
industry in West Michigan remains strong. Contributions from aviation industry
employers and individuals have allowed us to continue awarding these scholarships for
over 25 years.


WMBAA and our sponsors invite interested sophomore, junior and senior aviation
students attending a college or university in West Michigan with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
to submit an application for a WMBAA Aviation Scholarship.WMBAA

2013 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Sponsored by West Michigan Business Aircraft Association
The West Michigan Business Aircraft Association (WMBAA) is offering the following
scholarships, designed to help offset the high costs of an aviation degree.

 

  •  Donald Reininger Memorial Scholarship Award –One $3,000 (minimum) cash 

...award available. The cash will be distributed in the form of a check made out to the
recipient and the recipient’s college, university or technical school.

 

  •  Flight Training Award * – One FlightSafety International Cessna Citation Co-Pilot 

Initial Training Course
* Applicants for the Flight Training Award must have senior status by the fall of 2013 or
be a 2010- 2013 graduate currently employed within an aviation field who has achieved
a Commercial Multi-Engine Rating.


WMBAA Scholarship Applicant Requirements:
- Applicant must complete and submit the WMBAA Aviation Scholarship
Application (attached)
- Applicant must be a U.S. citizen
- Applicant must have college sophomore, junior, or senior status by the fall of
2013 and be currently enrolled in a four-year aviation flight program with plans to
complete a curriculum leading to a degree and a career in aviation
- Applicant must have maintained a 3.0 minimum GPA (on a 4.0 system) at the
time of application


 The completed application shall be accompanied by the following items:
o A current resume
o Transcripts from current and all prior collegiate institutions
o A one- to two-page essay describing the applicant’s aviation background,
current status, and future aviation goals
o Photocopies of all FAA ratings/certificates held


- Scholarship winners will be asked to provide a photo and short biography for our
brochure


Application package must be postmarked by Friday April 5 to be considered for the
scholarship. Mail application package to:
